Specialist lender Leumi UK has signed on the first two of a three loan package which will finance the development of three ESG-forward care homes by LNT Care Developments, the UK’s largest developer of purpose-built care homes.

The properties, located across southern and central England, will comprise 198 beds in total and will be operated by LNT’s in-house platforms, Oyster Care Homes and Danforth Care Homes.

Each individual care home will be constructed according to LNT’s highly standardised design, consisting of 66 state-of-the-art ensuite wetroom bedrooms across 2-3 storeys.

The properties will have market-leading ESG credentials, with each expected to reach an energy efficiency rating of EPC A and with the capability to achieve BREEAM in-use “Outstanding”, incorporating solar panels, battery storage, and geothermal boreholes. The assets will operate on an operationally carbon-neutral basis.

LNT Care Developments is the UK’s largest developer of purpose-built care homes, having developed over 220 care homes, representing more than 14,500 beds with a cumulative GDV of over £3.2 billion.

Guy Brocklehurst, Relationship Director at Leumi UK said: “It is a pleasure to work again with industry leader, LNT, supporting the expansion of its operating platforms Danforth and Oyster. LNT’s expertise in delivering ESG-forward care homes closely aligns with Leumi UK’s strategy of building a high-quality healthcare portfolio in collaboration with leading sponsors.”

Matt Lowe, CEO at LNT Care Developments said: “Our state-of-the-art, purpose-built, standardised properties are designed to the most exacting environmental requirements and serve a growing demand for high-quality care homes as evolving demographics continue to impress a supply/demand imbalance across the country. It was important for us to work with a financial partner that truly understands the sector and holds a long-term, customer-first view – requirements that the Leumi UK team was well able to fulfil.”
